No short break or holiday would be the same without a trip to the local pub right? Even better when you don’t even have to get in the car to visit!
Read on to discover our village pubs in East Preston: all of them walking distance from our two holiday lets, Driftwood Corner and Little Driftwood. Each one offers something slightly different to the other, so all requirements and tastes are covered.

No. 1. The Tudor Tavern.
A firm favourite with our guests this year for its warm welcome and no nonsense family pub grub!
We’ve lost count of the number of times this super friendly pub gets mentioned in our guest book, or in person during a stay. A proper English pub with good beer and traditional pub food. They do a mean Sunday roast and even a “doggie roast” for your four legged family members. They have bands playing often and large screen TVs for the major sports events. It’s definitely a place the locals go, so that should tell you a lot.
No. 2. The Seaview.
Fully refurbished throughout and under new ownership since August 2022, this pub has seen a new lease of life. The garden is absolutely gorgeous during the summer months for evening drinks and nibbles before dinner. It is a more expensive venue for meals – think more “gastro pub”. For that reason, it’s a popular choice for our guests wanting to have a nice celebration meal. Birthday lunches or anniversary dinner etc. and they have a private dining room for larger parties.

No. 3. The SP Alehouse
This place has almost a cult like following. Unassuming from the outside, it’s the place to go if you are into your craft beers and gins!
We love it for it’s cute little covered garden area in the back with comfy sofas and fairy lights.
No. 4. The Clockhouse
This is a drinking pub. There is no food served here. It’s popular for an after work drink with the locals. They often have bands playing here too.

So there you have it – 4 pubs – all offering something slightly different to each other and all of them are within an easy 15 minute walk from Driftwood Stays holiday houses.
