West Beach in Littlehampton?… Most people have heard of West Wittering beach with its huge expanse of sand backed by dunes. But how many know about Littlehampton’s best kept secret – West Beach?
There is no doubt that West Wittering is a beautiful beach – but it’s a 45 minute drive from our holiday cottages and this is on a good day. Try doing it on a a hot summer’s day in school holidays and you might be in for a good couple of hours. Imagine this with little ones eager to get to the beach!?!
Once you have found a place in the car park and actually made it onto the beach, you will then need to find your little patch of sand, squeezed in amongst the thousands of other beachgoers with the same idea as you!
So, hear us out… we encourage you to consider West Beach as a fabulous alternative. Only 15 minutes by car from our holiday cottages this wonderful beach offers all the things you get at the Witterings with a fraction of the crowds! A huge expanse of sand at low tide, wonderful dunes for the kids and the dog to explore. This beach is also dog friendly all year round unlike West Wittering, so you can take a picnic, go for the day and have enough space for family beach cricket or playing frisbee without fear of taking out your beach neighbours!
